Retail Park Signage That Drives Footfall and Protects Brand Standards
A retail park is a competitive environment. Motorists make a visit or drive past decision in seconds, shoppers arriving on site need to find stores quickly, and every tenant brand needs its identity expressed consistently.
Great retail park signage does all three. Attracting attention from the arterial road, directing visitors inside the scheme, and giving each retailer the shopfront visibility their lease promises.
For 18 years we’ve delivered retail park signage for blue-chip operators and the retailers within them, including Euro Garages, Greggs, Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Subway, Spar, JYSK and USC.

Whether you’re commissioning a full scheme, refreshing aging signage during a retail park rebrand, or rolling out a single tenant unit across 50 sites, we handle every stage in-house: survey, design, planning, manufacture and installation.

From independent shops to blue-chip retailers, we supply high-spec signage with fast turnaround, competitive pricing and around 90% of our signage manufactured in-house. No delays. No compromise.

Types of Retail Park Signs We Design, Manufacture and Install
Retail parks use a layered signage system. Each type serving a different visibility range and a different audience. We manufacture the full range.

Totem & Monolith Signs
The anchor asset of any retail park signage scheme. Totems and monoliths identify the park from the arterial road and list each tenant brand on illuminated panels. We build totems up to substantial heights using powder-coated aluminium frames with LED Illuminated tenant panels, designed for tenant swap out as the park’s occupancy changes.
Gantry Signs and Pylon Signs
For high-clearance visibility over car parks, forecourts and service yards. Gantry signs are ideal for petrol forecourts within retail parks and for anchor-store frontages where line of sight from the road is critical.

Illuminated Fascia Signs
Every retail unit needs a fascia sign that complies with the landlord’s shopfront design guide while expressing the tenant’s brand identity. We build bespoke fascia trays in aluminium composite, with options for built-up letters, flat cut letters, push-through acrylic or flex-face technology.
Flex-Face Signs
Large-format, fabric-tensioned illuminated signage, the go-to solution for oversized anchor-store signs and retail park feature panels where traditional acrylic faces would be uneconomical or too heavy.

Built-Up and Flat-Cut Letters
Three-dimensional letters give retail park fascias depth and premium perception. We fabricate built-up and flat-cut letters in aluminium, stainless steel, brushed finishes and painted acrylic.
Wayfinding Signs
Directional and informational signs that move shoppers efficiently through the park, from car park bay identifiers to pedestrian wayfinding, DDA Compliant information totems and vehicle routing.

Construction Hoarding
For retail parks undergoing refurbishment or tenant changeover, we manufacture branded construction hoarding that maintains the site’s commercial presence during the works.

Planning Permission, Landlord Approvals and Compliance
Most retail park signage requires advertising consent (formally, Express Consent under the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007). Illuminated signs, signs above 0.3m², and anything at significant height almost always need it. Retail park tenants will also need landlord approval. The estate’s shopfront design guide will specify permitted materials, maximum dimensions, illumination type and colour palette.
We handle both processes routinely. Our surveyors produce the measured drawings and photomontages the landlord’s managing agent needs; our planning team submits and tracks the advertising consent application with the local authority. For signs installed at height, our teams work to CDM 2015 Principal Contractor standards and carry full public liability cover to £10m.
Nationwide Installation, Manchester Precision
Our installation teams cover every retail park in the UK. We’ve delivered single site tenant refits and multisite landlord rollouts from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Whether you’re an estate managing agent responsible for one retail park or 40, a national retail brand rolling out new store formats, or a construction project manager handling a new-build scheme, we can scale to match.
Retail Park
Signs FAQ’s
Most retail park signs require advertising consent (Express Consent) from the local planning authority. Illuminated signs of any size, and any sign larger than 0.3m², almost always need consent. We handle the application process on your behalf as part of our standard service.
It depends on the sign. The park’s entrance totem, wayfinding and shared infrastructure signage are almost always the landlord’s responsibility. Individual tenant fascias are usually the tenant’s responsibility but must comply with the landlord’s shopfront design guide. We work with both sides.
There’s no fixed statutory limit, but most retail park totems are between 6m and 12m tall. The permitted height depends on the local planning authority, the site’s setting, and visibility requirements from the nearest arterial road. We produce photomontages as part of the planning submission to support the case.
A standard tenant fascia refit from survey to installed takes around 2-3 weeks. A full retail park rebrand including entrance totems, wayfinding and tenant fascias typically takes 3-6 weeks, depending on planning timelines.
Retail park signage is typically built from aluminium composite material (ACM), powder-coated aluminium, stainless steel and tensioned PVC flex-face fabric. Illumination is LED in almost all modern schemes. We choose materials based on lifespan, exposure, landlord specification and budget.
Yes. Well designed totems use modular tenant panels that can be swapped when tenants change. Fascia faces, flex-face skins and vinyl overlays can also be replaced without removing the tray or support structure. We offer a full rebranding service for landlords managing tenant churn.
Costs vary significantly by type and scale. We provide fully itemised quotations after a free site survey.
Yes. We’re based in Manchester but install retail park signage nationwide, with fully accredited (CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, SSSTS) in-house installation teams covering the whole of the UK.
