The programme
Nav Car run a fleet of over 100 cars, vans and recovery vehicles out of Agecroft. We have liveried all of it for twenty years.
The work is continuous rather than a single project. New vehicles arrive and need lettering before they go out. Older vehicles come back in for re-lettering when graphics have aged, or when a vehicle changes role. The reason is straightforward: a rental and recovery fleet is the business’s advertising, and it has to look professional every day it’s on the road.
The client came to us in the first place because they had seen another vehicle we had lettered and wanted the same standard of finish.
Design, not just application
This one isn’t produced to someone else’s brand guidelines. We handle the design and branding ourselves.
That makes the relationship different to a retail rollout. There is no architect’s spec and no brand manual to work from. We developed the livery, and we maintain it across the fleet so that a van lettered this year matches one lettered five years ago. Consistency across 100+ vehicles, over two decades, with no central brand document, only works if the same people keep designing and producing it.
The constraint that shaped the programme
Vehicles earn money when they’re out, not when they’re with us. Turnaround is the whole job.
- A new vehicle is prepped and lettered in half a day.
- A vehicle with existing graphics takes a full day: the old vinyl comes off, the adhesive residue is cleaned away, and every panel is cleaned and checked before new graphics go anywhere near it.
That second half matters more than it sounds. Vinyl applied over poorly cleaned panels or leftover adhesive lifts at the edges within months, which is how fleet graphics end up looking tired. Preparation is the difference between a livery that lasts and one that needs doing again.
Work is carried out in our indoor graphics unit, which gives a controlled environment for application, or outside and on site where a vehicle can’t come to us.
What we apply
Every vehicle is lettered across:
- Bonnet
- Side panels
- Doors
- Rear
- Windows on specific models
Materials are vinyl lettering and vehicle wrap vinyl throughout.

The result
Delivered on time, every time, for twenty years.
A fleet of more than 100 vehicles carrying a consistent livery, with new vehicles turned round in half a day so they’re earning rather than sitting. The relationship started because someone saw one of our lettered vehicles and wanted that standard, which is still the best advertising either of us has.
Fleet graphics
Whether it’s one van or a hundred, the process is the same: prep properly, apply properly, get the vehicle back on the road.
We design, print and apply in-house, from our own graphics unit in Manchester. For fleets that can’t come to us, we work on site.
